Hello, welcome.
The greatest and most beautiful work of art
that Man can create
is each and every instant in his life.
A work of Art is a whole,
where the incommesurable force of existence,
the greatness and perfection of creation
and love, in all its cosmic splendor,
can be experienced
in space, a dimension,
limited time,
in which the artist
manages to synthesize
just some of the universal essence
that speaks to us, that confronts us
with direct experience
through the work of art,
the infinite vital energy
takes us beyond our senses.
An art piece
places us in the presence of something
(like Max Ernst,
Kafka,
Akira Kurozawa,
Herzog...)
that opens doors
to new worlds,
to new depths of the senses;
it constantly reminds us
that reality is vaster than we believe...
most of the time.
I was given the gift and the chance,
I have chosen the way
and undertaken the task,
of devoting the time I am granted
each day
to the search of meaning
through art.
In this website I have gathered samples
of some of the searches I have carried out,
of some roads I have walked along;
a binnacle where, using art as the language,
I have kept testimony of the places
I have visited,
the atmospheres I have been allowed to explore,
where I learned to live,
where I loved life.
I have always believed that there are feelings
that are expressed better with a hug,
whereas others need a handshake or a kiss.
Likewise, in art there are various ways
of meditating and transmitting different sensations.
Thus, diverse possibilities have always interlaced,
techniques, materials,
drawing, color, rhythm,
written or unwritten poetry,
music, dance, theater...
these are places I often choose
to transcribe the space and time of each trip
into a work of art,
a witness of that adventure of the spirit.
So do themes, series, textures, colors
succeed one another in the course of time,
their presence declines and emerges again,
embodying the memory of what never was.
Speaking about the work itself, perhaps...
I cannot tell the difference between art and life.
Various dimensions, spaces and times interweave in both.
The labyrinthine corridors of so-called reality
cohabit in unimaginable ways,
as seen from some perspectives,
or in kind and familiar manners,
as seen from others...
Anyway...
My work, in fact, follows the hesitant paths
of soul and reason...
What experience grasps and the spirit takes as possible
might perhaps be rejected by culture’s reasoning...
and vice versa...
Thus, everything you will see is the result of doubt,
just the beginning,
the outcome of the search of the right question...
and the answers that have been bestowed on me along the way...
answers revealed, and marvelously perceived,
which were surely dozing next to the questions
in our inner selves!
(the questions that all living mortals that have crossed this world
have undoubtedly made
in their quest for firm ground
where to rest for a while...)
Or maybe the unsettling images
of uncertainty’s terrors,
the shadows of truth
thrown by the small candle
of heroic soul,
a candle that, notwithstanding,
charges against the darkness
of the likewise seemingly eternal night of spirit...
As in life,
instant illumination mingles with chance,
the interference of reality, pushy and unwise,
the passing of time,
the twists of fate,
the others’clumsy and momentary coincidence,
the cosmos’s plot for us to try,
in spite of all the information gathered,
to be happy.
The work of art happens
in this frame,
with and among these external structural elements,
water and fire,
earth, wood and paper,
petroleum and plastic,
oil and acrylic,
cement, glass and sand make love,
free,
devoid of pernicious morals,
material interest,
or marital contracts,
bringing messages from other lands,
messages that speak directly to the soul,
to the very essence of the human being.
